The Segregation Model | Models within Paper
This section presents a series of simulations that highlight the basic functionality of the segregation model presented within the paper. By running these experiments multiple times, the inner workings of the model will be explored. These explorations allow one to see the sensitivities of the model and to identify sources of error within the model. However before exploring the segregation model a caveat is needed. That is, while numerous parameters and statistics are possible to highlight both the sensitivities and the outcome of the model. The results in this section only highlight specific model scenarios mainly visually which are additionally supplemented with brief summary statistics where appropriate.
Tests include:
- The Role of Preferences
- Different Neighbourhood Sizes
- The Impact Geographical Features
- Small Minority Population
In each case, there will be links to the models source code and data sets thus allowing for repetition if desired.
