Initially,
Argent St George were
responsible for the preparation and submission of the development
proposal for King's Cross Central, working
together
with the land owners: London
and Continental Railways (LCR) and Exel
Plc.
The
King's Cross Partnership is
a partnership between Islington and Camden Councils,
London and Continental
Railways, Railtrack,
Nat West Bank,
Exel (formally
NFC plc), the Metropolitan Police, Camden & Ilsington Health
Authority,
and local residents. Formed in 1996, the partnership has £37.5
million core funding from Government Single Regeneration Budget
to regenerate the
King's Cross
area over a seven year period. Its aim is to transform the King's
Cross area into a vibrant and successful part of a world class
city.
The
two local planning authorities for King's Cross Central are
the London Borough of Camden and
the London Borough of
Islington.
