Option
Appraisal - how will we choose?
An
option appraisal is a method of testing different solutions
to see which one delivers maximum benefits to the residents
of Woodberry Down and neighbouring Estates. The result of
the appraisal will be used to inform the long term redevelopment
and regeneration of the area. Before carrying out an option
appraisal the overall objectives which have to be achieved
must be clear. The challenge is not only to provide improved
housing for 30 years, but also improved education, jobs, health
care, leisure, transport and levels of security that answer
resident's needs.
- Information
that inputs to the Option Appraisal:
Condition of Existing Homes - The 'quantative survey' has
already been carried out that has estimated costs of improvement.

- Resident
Survey - The 'qualitative survey' was carried out in 1999
and gives accurate information on the population such as
numbers and ages of people living on the estates. It also
highlights concerns of the residents. See the results area
by area in Maps (A3a). (link to file in D1)
