By World Region
Here is the table based on aggregating scientists in the
countries where they work to 9 world regions which we consider
geographically distinct. These are:
Eastern Seaboard and South East USA - including Central and
Eastern Canada
West of Mississippi - including Western Canada and the Great
Plains
Western Europe with the division along the German border
Asia Pacific - essentially China and Japan
Australasia - Australia and New Zealand
Middle East including Israel
Africa
India and Southeast Asia including Indonesia, the Philippines
Eastern Europe and Russia
As before, we have put the maps on a separate page and the
rank size distributions are shown with those for institutions
and countries on a separate page too. See the panel on the
right.
