Maps and Locations According to Citation Counts

We have plotted the citations counts for the 232 places which are essentially metropolitan areas, towns and cities, for the 27 countries where these occur and for the 9 world regions that we have defined. We face the usual difficulties of showing such detail and thus for the place-based maps we have plotted a world map which you can zoom into to seethe detail. The country and region maps are more straightforward. We have used the proportional circle technique to show size - citation counts - where the radius of the circle is the square root of the number of citations.
