Geographic & Ethnic Origin of Names
Initial Project Meeting and Invitation to PCTs
The Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) at University College London (UCL) is organising a network of PCTs interested in a collaboration to improve the ethnicity classification of patient registers through the analysis of names and birthplaces. This initiative draws upon the results of an ESRC funded project on the quantitative origin of names, and UCL work with some London PCTs on the enhancement of birthplace information in health registers, both of them performed at CASA (www.casa.ucl.ac.uk).
An initial meeting on this project, open to any PCT Public Health Department, will take place on Wednesday 25th of May 14:00-16:30 at UCL main Bloomsbury campus. Please find attached the agenda for the session. The attachment also gives directions to the venue. Prior confirmation of attendance is required by e-mail to p.mateos@ucl.ac.uk
Please forward this invitation to any other PCT Public Health department that you think might be also interested in this project.
