3D WORLD OPENS DOORS TO THE INTERNET

Town planning, virtual reality and the Internet have merged with the announcement of a new online initiative that will study the effects of how cities and urban environments grow.

In a 30-day trial users of the Internet will be allowed into the 3D world of CVDS, the Collaborative Virtual Design Studio set up by Andy Smith as part of his Phd research at University College London.

The 3D world exists as part of a Web site called Active Worlds, a site that includes 479 virtual spaces where users can chat and run around places such as Las Vegas, Brazil or Mars.
