News from Day 15/16
| During Day 15 and Day 16 a total of 1,449 new objects were placed in the
world, the world continues to grow at a steady pace. A notable feature is the inceasingly
festive tone of the world. With a Christmas Tree at Ground Zero and a Jazzy Version of
'Merry Christmas' playing, Christmas is coming to '30 Days'. A number of buildings
around '30 Days' have been adapted accordingly and Christmas Trees are now a common
site in the world. |
A paper, featuring work in '30 Days', was given at the Cities in the Millennium
Conference, London. The paper entitled "Metaworlds and Virtual Space: Towards the
Digital City and Life in the Metaverse" argued that '30 Days' is one of the true
examples on the internet of a Virtual City. A city which has been built by the citizens of
'30 Days', creating a world featuring extensive housing and recreational locations such as
Art Galleries and Public Bars. A full version of the paper will be made available online
early 1999.
